May I Have This Dance

An instructor for artists with intellectual disabilities, Seattle painter Allison Rohland approaches her work intuitively, letting each piece naturally progress. She looks to the work of her hero, the late abstract-expressionist artist Joan Mitchell, for inspiration.
An expressive abstract composition with layered brushstrokes, gestural lines, and a mix of earthy neutrals, soft blues, ochres, and warm terracotta tones. Framed in a white oak floating frame, this piece brings depth, texture, and a modern feel to any space.
